Ivenix Partners with Iatric® Systems to Deliver Auto-Pump Programming to MEDITECH Hospitals

BOSTON, December 10, 2019 — Ivenix, the first and only new, large-volume pump and infusion system completely designed from the ground up to meet the new FDA infusion pump guidelines, today announced its partnership with Iatric® Systems, Inc., a Harris Healthcare Group company. Together, Ivenix and Iatric Systems will provide a solution that enables interoperability between the Ivenix large-volume infusion pump and the MEDITECH electronic health (EHR) using Iatric Systems Accelero Connect® software.

Medication errors are the leading cause of patient harm in U.S. hospitals, accounting for almost 20% of medical injuries, and IV-related errors are consistently the most serious of these. Automatic programming of the IV pump from a pharmacy-verified order greatly reduces the chance of error.

The standards-based interoperability between Ivenix and Accelero Connect enables the automatic programming of the Ivenix large-volume pump from a provider’s order. It also allows the automatic documentation of infusion data into the MEDITECH EMR. With interoperability, transcription errors are reduced, resulting in safer, less error-prone medication administration. By significantly reducing the time required to program and document an infusion, this solution also promises to increase overall nurse and patient satisfaction.
