Chip Royer, RPh, Pharmacy Implementation Specialist, Ivenix
It’s Pharmacy Month and National Pharmacy Week, and we at Ivenix send our heartfelt thanks to all pharmacy staff for your dedication in providing excellent care to all patients. Often in the shadows of other care providers, you are crucial members of the care team and work tirelessly to ensure patients receive the appropriate medication therapies.
As pharmacists, we are driven by the desire to help people and patients in achieving good health. We impact people’s lives by working with other healthcare providers to help improve health outcomes. Pharmacists have many roles and contribute in different ways whether in the hospital, community, informatics, home care or ambulatory settings.
As pharmacists in technology, we are privileged to be able to shape pharmacy innovation that increases efficiency and enhances medication safety. Our role is to represent pharmacists in all aspects of product development and implementation, making sure it meets the needs of clinicians and hospitals overall. We also educate and inform future users on how technology can positively impact infusion therapy in their hospitals.
At the end of the day we all agree, it’s about efficient and safe medication delivery. It’s why we work on improving every aspect of pharmacy – the tools and technologies, the clinical workflow, the training, and education – that it is done with efficiency, with purpose, and drives positive patient outcomes.
Finally, we would be remiss if we didn’t address being a pharmacist during a pandemic. Your contributions are vital and essential, and you have done it with dedication, resilience, and perseverance. We are inspired by you and we thank you for sacrificing your time and keeping medication safety at the forefront of all you do. As pharmacists in technology, we promise to keep working for you – together, we will create a safer future for medication delivery.
